FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: How long have you been creating gaming content?

I first started making gaming content streaming retro games on YouTube Gaming back in 2015 for fun. I followed that up by casually making YouTube videos about gaming, mobile tech, and music in 2016, but didn't take content creation serious until 2018 when I started streaming on Twitch (and later, Mixer).

Q: What are your goals as a content creator?

To help bring visibility to more Black gamers and content creators in the industry, along with increasing the quality of my own content. We're still massively under-represented in this space, so any way I can contribute, I want to do that. As far as my own content, I personally see myself as a personality streamer/creator, so I hope to be able to branch into things like hosting, acting, working as a brand ambassador, and more.

Q: Why did you decide to stop making music and focus on gaming?

"Industry rule #4080: record company people are shadyyyy" - A Tribe Called Quest

Seriously, though, it was a multitude of things. To make a long story less long, my father had a stroke in 2014 that paralyzed the right side of his body. I spent a year taking care of him following that, which completely took me away from music. When I tried to return, I'll just say...a lot of things behind the scenes changed. So I decided that I could be happier pursuing other passions, and gaming has definitely been a lifelong passion for me.

Q: What types of games do you enjoy playing?

I have a deep love for retro JRPGs. Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all-time. I'm still wishing for a remake or remaster of Xenogears. All of my favorite Final Fantasy games are from the PS1 and before. Aside from that, though, I'm a fan of the Fallout franchise. I'm somewhere between casual and addicted when it comes to Apex Legends. I really embrace the whole "variety" title.

Q: What made you decide to stream on YouTube Gaming, Twitch, AND Facebook Gaming?

I have things that I love about both platforms. The tools that Twitch & Facebook Gaming provide like Clips makes creating content a lot easier, along with already having a proven base of viewers for the types of games I play. The discovery on YouTube is high, being that it covers both streams AND video content. The good thing about it is, I'm not partnered with any of the platforms yet, so I have the freedom to stream on and enjoy them all at my own leisure, and I'd advise other creators in the same position as me to do the same if they'd like. As of now, though, I've settled on using YouTube Gaming as my main platform for both streaming and uploads.

Q: Are there any fellow streamers and content creators that inspire you?

Definitely. While I feel like having your own style is super important (nobody wants a copy of someone already popular, be yourself!), I'm definitely inspired by some other creators. Off the top of the head - CoryxKenshin, Berleezy, The Black Hokage, MunchkinDoom, KreativMind9, StoryModeBae, Quanicus, MattVisual, Satchell Drakes, & runJDrun (JD Witherspoon) all come to mind when it comes to inspirations in my own streaming and content creation. All of them are Black streamers and YouTubers that have branded themselves in a way that connects with people and opens the door for business opportunities while also successfully keeping their content entertaining.
